Sinclair's Musings

Blogpower has recently seen a number of new members coming from what could roughly be called the left-wing; whilst that's a tendency I'm all in favour of, given that our original blogroll did have a distinct list to the right, some others have expressed concerns. Our latest prospective member should provoke very little complaint, as he is a self-confessed conservative, but also a thoughtful and courteous blogger. I invite members to cast an eye over Sinclair's Musings, and leave your thoughts in the comments. The first objection will, as usual, trigger a vote in the mailing list. Don't feel the need to object just because the list has been eerily quiet recently.

*** Update: there have been no objections over the 72 hours, so by general acclamation Matt is in. Welcome aboard, Matt, we're very happy to have you with us. ***

So delighted. Matty is so obviously a top blogger that his addition to the fold would give huge impetus to BP. Hope nothing gets in the way.

One of my best blogging mates- a real star, one of the most intelligent rightwingers out there- definitely one to include. Get him in!

A yes from me.

Not my politics but yes let him in. What counts is the quality not his politics and it should be so for all prospective members.

Ian states "Blogpower has recently seen a number of new members coming from what could roughly be called the left-wing; whilst that's a tendency I'm all in favour of, given that our original blogroll did have a distinct list to the right, some others have expressed concerns."

I find it hugely troubling that some others wish to discriminate on the basis of politics. Perhaps Blogpower should include in its "constitution" a requirement not to exclude a prospective member because of his/her politics.

By all means disagree on politics but do not let it interfere in membership issues.

I imagine those on the right would be very unhappy - and rightly so - if some left-leaning members voted against "Sinclair's Musings" because he was a conservative.

Quality not politics decides.

How about some non-political blogs too? I think we are feeling quite marginalized. I already voted yes.

Matt is a great addition to BP. A really incisive writer with a witty turn of phrase.

Only problem is all these Matts. You'll need to think of a different name.

Apologies for the absence of posts recently. A change in personal circumstances has left me no time to write. Am hoping this will change soon.

There are few rightwing blogs that I find *really* engaging (I find that bloggers tend to write for an audience that is in their own political corner generally), but Sinclair's Musings is an exception - I visit it occasionally, and when I had to give someone some examples of good right-wing blogs recently, this was one of the two that I picked.

So that's a YES.

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm very glad to be aboard the good ship Blogpower.

I've added the banner and blogroll - I think my site needs some redesign work now.
