Nominations are now closed and thank you

Midnight here and 21:00 in London and the nominations have now closed. Actually, in the last two hours they slowed down to 45 e-mails, which I've now flicked through and I'll be honest, I was looking to see if Last Ditch and Colin Campbell were going to overhaul me in Category 3. Those boys are too strong.

As it turned out, My Marrakesh was an amazing surprise packet. But you don't want to know about all this. You want to know about the Brit, U.S. and Political categories and all the ranters and under-rateds and so on and I'll be honest once more - I'm not sure. Iain Dale hit back hard and Wife from the North was taking everything last time I saw. I'll say right now that Welshcakes took hers easily and DK moved effortlessly in one category. The BNP were well organized.

I think we can claim we were representative. There were 425 e-mails, with an average 8 to 10 nominations per e-mail. They came from everywhere. I'm writing as if it were all over but it's only the start. Tomorrow the voting starts for 200 nominees but first I'll take six hours sleep and then get those nominees to you by about 06:00, London time. Nigh nigh.

I'm sure I speak for all currently active Blogpowerers in giving you a big vote of thanks for this huge graft you have put yourself through the last week.

Three cheers now.

Yes

Above and stratospherically beyond the call of Duty. All we need to do now is rig the polls.
