The Blogpower Express

This has no official approval, but I have put together (using Pageflakes) a "front page" for Blogpower which brings together feeds for all our blogs. Click the heading to this post to have a look.

Tentatively, it's called The Blogpower Express. Even more tentatively, I have assigned our blogs to various tags ("Left of Centre," "Right of Centre," "Non-aligned" etc.) so as to organise them behind tabs. It's all totally flexible so if I have erred, it can be fixed.

Please have a look and let me know what you think. I have tested it in Firefox, Flock, Camino and Safari. It seems to work in all but the last. I believe it works in Internet Explorer too.

Of course if any Blogpowerer can put together something more professional, that would be great. I was just playing to see if it were possible to create an automated "front end" for all our blogs to build the Blogpower brand.

  1. Tom, that's a hell of a lot of work, Sir. I just accessed it. Congratulations.

  2. It might be just my computer but it keeps loading then reloading.

  3. That is very clever! I don't quite know what I'm supposed to do with it though ...

  5. Okay, James, I'll do that. I can do that.

  6. That's very impressive, Tom, thank you (although it did take me a while to find the link). I can see a strong argument for making this our new front page, especially if there is some mechanism for making a feed from DTB quite prominent on there; can anyone else?

  7. I should hasten to point out I am working on a library computer, on which the hyperlink in the post heading was neither working nor revealing the URL. [IE6]

Guess which three letters begin the word verification?

  8. OK, so the bulk of us are saying: 'Very good, let's do it.'

Now, technically, how? Who amongst us has the expertise to make it our homepage? Tom?

  9. This is great.

I've shied away from RSS (other than providing a syndication feed from my blog to an as yet unlaunched Morley site) but have had it in the back of my mind to sort it out as I now scan about a hundred a day, many of which don't change.

Just clicking on the RSS tab saves me about ten minutes!

  10. Hi Tom

Just caught up with this. It looks absolutely great. As a beneficiary of all the hard work, we at As A Dodo want to say a hearty "Thanks" for all your efforts.

Do we need to do anything more than edit the usual Blogpower logo to link to the pageflakes url instead of DTF?

  11. Just so you know - Coming Out From Under has been replaced by a gay porn site.

  12. I know, Matt - I e-mailed Ian on Saturday about it. We're just waiting for him to remove it now.
